On Thursday, December 5th, the online webinar “Waste Prevention: The Power of Reuse” took place, organized by the Interreg Europe program aimed at fostering policy learning across the European Union. The central theme of the event was reuse, recognized as a key strategy to reduce waste production in Europe and promote a sustainable transition towards a circular economy model.
The webinar focused on reuse as a preventive measure across various waste streams, including e-waste, food, and household products. The event showcased innovative solutions, best practices, guidelines, and recommendations, supported by concrete examples from European cities and regions involved in several Interreg Europe projects.
As a partner in the MINEV project, the Metropolitan City of Bologna was invited to participate and present the #moNOuse good practice. The initiative, approved in 2023, was promoted by ANCI Emilia-Romagna and ATERSIR, both of which have long been committed to improving waste reduction policies at the local level, including through regional funding made available via public tenders.
