Objective: the rate of global urbanization is increasing rapidly. Cities are increasingly recognized as the arena where solutions to major social and environmental challenges should be implemented. This rapid change has required a long series of problems in the energy, water, health and transport sectors. International Urban Cooperation (IUC) is a long-term strategy for sustainable urban development in cooperation with both public and private sectors. It is a matter of encouraging interchanges between cities on the environment and urban resilience.
