On Thursday, April 29th, the convention "Sustainable consumption and projects in the territory" was held, organized by the Province of Bologna with the contribution of the Carisbo Foundation and the patronage of the University of Bologna. The initiative was an opportunity to take stock of the issue of sustainable consumption and the role played by the valorization of the territory in terms of sustainability. In fact, despite the growing spaces reserved for these issues in the public debate, the awareness that consumer sustainability does not only touch the individual purchasing and consumption behavior but also the territorial planning is not yet strong enough. The same research presented during this meeting deals with sustainable consumption and is part of the debate on territorial governance and sustainability.
The cases recorded are part of that process of awareness that makes the multiplication of virtuous experiences possible and relatively simpler. On the other hand, the quantitative study that involved the companies of the territory confirms that the propensity to respond to market demands based on sustainability has considerably increased also on the productive side. In short, the green economy increasingly represents an opportunity for development rather than a limit or a constraint.
